USD$171 for each person
The day begins when you are picked up from your hotel in Monteverde and travel to the province of Guanacaste, to the Barra Onda National Park which is located in the province of Guanacaste 22 kilometers northeast of the city of Nicoya.
Barra Honda is the only park in Costa Rica that has a complex of underground caverns, although there are other highly visited caverns in the country, this is the only one that has this type of formation.
The trip to Barra Onda is in a tourist van through various roads, some paved and others unpaved that cross the rural countryside of Costa Rica, it will take approximately 3 hours each way.
About 19 caves have been explored, which present great attractions and underground beauties, with capricious shapes created by the action of water on calcium carbonate (stalactites, stalagmites). Currently, only the Terciopelo cavern is open to the public, since it is the one that presents adequate conditions for the descent of inexperienced visitors. This cavern is ideal for adventure tourism.
Lunch will be served after the tour and then return to Monteverde.
