The day begins when you are picked up from your hotel in Monteverde and travel to the province of Guanacaste, to the Barra Onda National Park which is located in the province of Guanacaste 22 kilometers northeast of the city of Nicoya.

Barra Honda is the only park in Costa Rica that has a complex of underground caverns, although there are other highly visited caverns in the country, this is the only one that has this type of formation.
