The Papagayo peninsula is located on the northern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, northwest of the Guanacaste province, in the Gulf of Papagayo. Papagayo is a very popular tourist destination. It is home to the Four Seasons Resorts Costa Rica, which includes a competition golf course with the signature of Arnold Palmer.
Since much of the Papagayo Peninsula is yet to be fully developed, there are multiple outdoor activities available. Outdoor activities include deep-sea fishing, boat cruising, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking, whitewater rafting, canopy tours through the forest, and horseback riding. Nearby are the national parks of Costa Rica, where you can go hiking. It is also possible to visit the surrounding historical sites and local villages. Golf is one of the most popular activities on the peninsula. The peninsula also has a tennis center run by PBI Tennis Specialists. A new development is the town in the Papagayo port, which will have shops, restaurants and entertainment bars.

The marina will also include additional hotels, more residential opportunities, boutiques and local crafts.
