Its name is due to its pet, the second-largest rodent in the world and locally called Guatuza (Aguti Paca) which is very common in the forests of Monteverde and important in the distribution of seeds. The conservation area comprises 4 km of interconnected trails that allow all our visitors to create different routes to enjoy nature and the different landscapes. This protected area is part of the large conservation complex that includes the Monteverde Reserve, the Children's Eternal Forest, and the Santa Elena Reserve, among other conservation efforts that exist in the area.

Curi-cancha Reserve - Regular

Its name "Curi-Cancha" comes from the Inca culture which means "Golden Enclosure", this name was given by its founders. It is a paradise for bird watchers with more than 200 species where 83 hectares (205 acres) of cloud forest are also protected. They have reforestation areas with secondary forests and virgin forests, where you can find 7 very wide natural trails to explore. They have responsibilities to the environment since they are part of a conservation area that joins Monteverde, Arenal, and Tempisque.

They offer guided walking services both during the day and at night, providing the opportunity to learn while encountering the different species of flora and fauna that characterize Monteverde.

On its trails, you can discover a large amount of flora and fauna from both the Pacific and Caribbean areas of Costa Rica.
